Greek Myth & Legends
+ Personal Influences.
She prowls the streets at night, lending a hand to the poor, breaking in the face of anyone trying to assault another, especially if the victim is a woman. She slits her time between the woods and the city. She can never really give up her first wild for a new one. The chiton is gone and instead jeans and shirts, luxe lace bras and stylish boots clothe her. No one knows how dangerous she is; she loves the terror in their eyes when they find out. She loves to slide into the dance clubs, to let the bass thrum through her bones and refresh her spirit in the mild jumble of the beat. Sometimes she’ll spot her twin and he’ll flash her a friendly smile which she’ll return. Any man or woman who hits on her is promptly met with her wolf-stare and snarl; no one is worthy to lay with her. She knows how she is and what she is here to do. She can’t go home and face her awful father and his real wife. So the Goddess remains her days on earth, avoiding the others of her kind at all costs. Her twin, Apollo, often finds blood under his nails from stitching her wounds shut as she dances between her job a dog rescue volunteer and her birth given right as a Goddess. Even through the fangs and claws, she forgets that she isn’t invincible anymore.
This is a Harry Potter Verse. She is a pure blood with extreme magic potential. Her father was one of the council leaders and her mother a secretary at the Ministry. She is in her third year at Hogwarts, happily placed amongst the Gryffindors. Her overwhelming personality and hot temper that forces the need to be better than everyone else placed her promptly on the quidditch team. Though she tends to find her way out of her house and befriend throughout all the houses. Or at least anyone that can put up with her stubborn fire. She excels at Care of Magical Creatures and struggles in Potions class. Mostly due to her ’ Fight me ’ attitude she tends to throw at the professor. Her patronus is a Bear.
They say she’s one of Zeus’s girls, but they haven’t ever seen a girl like that before. The Huntress, they call her. Agrotera, that was her. Clean hits, every one, though rumor has it she was mixed up in that business of Agamemnon’s and that was a whole different kind of nasty. She’s sweet enough to those girls who hang around her, almost like a mother. But don’t be fooled, she’s a stone-cold killer. Her and her brother both. They say she was soft on Orion, but the way that Eos tells it, she took him out in delos and they still ain’t found the body, so who knows? One thing’s for sure, though - you give her a target and she’ll hunt that man down like a dog.
At her mother, Leto's request, Artemis gives a futile attempt to mend a relationship with her father, she leaves her modern day life and goes on an extended holiday back to Olympus. The Huntress struggles to conform back to the lady-like deity she once was and rather than spending much needed time with her family as promised, she decides to explore instead. Due to her lack of time spent on Olympus, she goes off to find adventure and generally start trouble with the residents.
In this Lord of the Rings / Hobbit verse Artemis isn’t a Goddess. She has very little magical power but does know a few things from her late father’s dabbling. Though they didn’t much get along on account of her step-mother. Eventually when she was in her late teens, Artemis took to the woods. It was there she leaned to fish and hunt on her own without the use of sorcery. Though she has no quarrels against using it. She resides mostly in the Elven forest where the elves have allowed her to come and go as she pleases as long as she is to report anything out of place to them immediately. Growing rather fond of them, the redhead openly does the majority of their dirty work without much of a hassle.
